Monico G. Muffley
As did the biblical young lady Hannah with her little boy Samuel (1 Sam. 1:28), a young woman by the name of Rosemarie Saucedo dedicated her baby boy to be a minister (i.e. servant) of God, because she highly respected her uncle, Trinidad Padilla. Despite Rosemarie's trying circumstances, decades later, God blessed that prayerful desire.
Although both as COG7 young adults having participated in ministry areas in their respective countries since the 1980s, Pastor Monico G. Muffley and his wife Martha Molina-Muffley began their ministry together in July of 1993, first serving in the music/evangelism ministry traveling with Min. Ramón Ruiz Garza and Min. Isaías Molina Pimentel and the music groups Amistad and Shalóm throughout the country of Mexico. In 1996, they "cut their teeth" in pastoral ministry in the Mexican city of Querétaro in a small misión called "Misión Las Teresas", ministering within the Mexican Conference of La Iglesia de Dios (Séptimo Día). Then in July 1999, they said their good-byes and left, with their two small daughters Karina and Melissa, for Denver, Colorado, where Monico began as a student at Summit School of Ministry - the school officially closing its doors as he was wrapping up his studies and received his diploma in August of 2001. Monico received his ministerial license in January 2002, while acting as the associate pastor (i.e. youth and young adults) for the Owosso Church of God (Seventh Day) at Spring Vale Academy (SVA) in Michigan. Nearly five years later, the Muffleys left for a new pastorate in Nampa, Idaho in September 2006, taking one more daughter Erica - who was born near SVA - with them. Monico received his ministerial credentials near the start of 2007 while pastoring at the Nampa Church of God (Seventh Day). In 2010, after much contemplation, prayer, and spending a full year in across-the-table talks, bylaw revisions, and alternating Sabbath services in the Nampa and Meridian, Idaho churches, and with the permission of the General Conference of the Church of God (Seventh Day) and West Coast District leadership, the Nampa and Meridian congregations officially combined in August of 2010 and began meeting on the Meridian church campus. During November of 2015, Pastor Monico and Martha tearfully ended their 9-year ministry in Idaho, Monico leaving for a new pastorate in Denver, Colorado in December 2015. Martha and their girls caught up with him in January 2016 where Martha currently works for the General Conference headquarters in Broomfield.
Aside from pastoring, Pastor Monico also has "moonlighted" for national and international church activities such as leading/coordinating the PMT1 (Pioneer Missionary Training) events and is currently restructuring the PMT2 event along with GC Missions director Bryan Cleeton, as well as participates in adjunct instructing for LifeSpring School of Ministry. Monico is currently a member of the License & Credentials Committee and an officer (i.e. secretary) of the North American Ministerial Council, as well as participates in some national committees. He also has participated in various youth camps and events and occasionally has preached at regional church events. Martha Molina-Muffley has been the keynote speaker for various SWORD and regional church women's events. Monico and Martha desire to see a growing working local church whose members - male or female - will also give themselves over to ministry - wherever that might take each individual, as the Holy Spirit leads them.
